James Whittington (Jimbo) Elrod, 35, former University of Oklahoma and Kansas City Chief football player, pleaded guilty to a federal charge of using a telephone to facilitate a narcotics felony. Elrod entered the plea in Tulsa federal court. U.S. District Judge James O. Ellison set sentencing for Nov. 1. The maximum penalty is four years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
