Church Deacon Held in Nashville Slaying of Social Worker
A social worker reading the Bible in a park was shot dead during an attempted kidnaping and police later chased down a church deacon in the woods and charged him with the killing.
Police said William Clark Dugger confessed to killing Robin Boyce Boswell last week and to another crime--the attempted kidnaping of the wife of Phil Bredesen, a millionaire Nashville businessman, last December.
They said Dugger, a deacon at a Church of Christ congregation in Nashville, was deeply in debt and tried to kidnap both women for the ransom.
