Gasoline Prices Fall: Retail gasoline prices plunged 2.5 cents nationwide in the past two weeks because of fierce competition among service stations, said Trilby Lundberg, who directs the Lundberg Survey of 12,000 stations. The average price for all types of gasoline sold at full- and self-service pumps was $1.10 per gallon for the two-week period. Much of the drop appeared to be the result of many dealers’ recent decision to drop regular leaded gasoline for a new middle grade, Lundberg said.
