Drue McCormick Ruja; Santa Barbara Philanthropist
Drue McCormick Ruja, 59, benefactor of the Santa Barbara Zoo and the city’s Museum of Natural History. Her contributions to the zoo, in honor of her husband, psychologist David H. Ruja, will be used for the area’s first facility to house and study gorillas. The museum donations went for an exhibit hall to be named for her three children, Virginia, William and Leigh Cartwright.
