Machine Tool Exports Rise: The United States exported 25.9% more machine tools in June than in May, but imports remained high, meaning a continued trade gap with other countries, the National Machine Tool Builders Assn. reported. It said imports, which are running at three times the level of exports, fell 5.5% during that period but were still a solid 24.5% higher than a year ago. In June, the United States exported a total of $80.7 million in machine tools, compared to $69.1 million in May.
