Siemens-Pacesetter said it received approval from the federal Food and Drug Administration to market a new pacemaker. A spokesman said the pacemaker would be the first to combine features allowing it to respond to a person’s physical activity, along with other features making it suitable for people who need pacemakers that stimulate both heart chambers. The Sylmar company is a subsidiary of Siemens A.G. of Munich, West Germany.
