Beverly Hills : Computers for 911 Calls

The city authorized purchase of a $1.6-million computer-aided dispatch system that will enable emergency services to respond to 911 calls within 20 seconds. The sophisticated system will place computers in police and fire vehicles and eliminate the need for officers to make radio contact with a dispatcher or to make hand-written records that have to be transferred into a computer system later.
