Fluor Corp.: The Irvine-based international engineering, construction and technical services firm reported third-quarter profit of $34 million, up 152% over a year ago. Revenue totaled $1.6 billion, up 16%. The results reflected brisk business for Fluor Daniel, its core engineering and construction operation, where new awards reached $2 billion, 34% ahead of the previous year. The firm also received a cash settlement of $43 million from the National Iranian Oil Co.
