Money Funds Hit a Record: Assets of the nation’s 463 money market mutual funds rose $1.26 billion in the week ended Tuesday to a record $344.65 billion, the Investment Company Institute said. It was the 10th-straight weekly all-time high and reflected the growing popularity of such investments despite a recent trend toward lower interest rates.
