Toughening Marijuana Laws

Share

After reading the article, I began to ponder the way our legislators are thinking. They want to jail people for “little things.” Our dollars can be better spent on education, and trying to understand why people are abusing drugs and alcohol.

The fact is that with the current laws we had a 33% drop in the number of people using marijuana between 1985 and 1988. It’s more and more obvious that educating our children should start at home. Maybe mom and dad should think twice before having drinks in front of junior.

I find it interesting that at the same time I was reading your excellent series on the 50th anniversary of World War II, and the atrocities of Hitler’s regime, this article should appear. Are there any similarities in the direction our nation is moving?
