A 20-month-old San Diego girl who may have been abducted this week outside a Tijuana shoe store is still missing, police said Thursday.

Sandra Veronica Aguirre, the daughter of Teresa and Alejandro Aguirre of the 2000 block of 40th Street, wandered away from her parents Monday near 2nd Street in downtown Tijuana, San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said.

The Aguirres, visiting Mexico with their daughter and other relatives, were browsing in a shoe store about 6 p.m. when Sandra walked away, Robinson said.

The parents, who speak only Spanish, reported the child missing to the Baja California State Judicial Police later that night and contacted San Diego police the next day, Robinson said.

Robinson described the Aguirre child as having blond hair, green eyes and a light complexion. She has a chipped front tooth and her face and body are scarred from chicken pox, he said.

When last seen, the girl was wearing pink overalls, a white shirt and pink tennis shoes.
