Garvey’s Image Is Sullied by His Dating Habits

It would seem that Mike Downey has joined the “Steve Garvey damage control and public relations team,” if one is to take seriously his column of Sept. 4.

It was because of media cheap shots, such as Downey’s, that Cynthia was prompted to write her book in the first place. I can hardly blame her for being frustrated about always being portrayed as the heavy in her relationship with Garvey.

I don’t think anyone, including Cynthia, really cares who Garvey has dated or impregnated since his divorce, except maybe the women involved.

But the fact that the man went to such great lengths to create and market the Mr. Clean image and then was dating and sleeping with other women during his marriage is not only interesting but disgusting.
