Meanwhile, Main Place/Santa Ana--the regional mall located just down the road from South Coast Plaza--also has announced a roster of new tenants.

Phelps Sport, which specializes in men’s sportswear, has opened on the second level near Nordstrom. The retailer has another Orange County store at Newport Center/Fashion Island.

Babbages, a Dallas-based computer software store, also recently opened its doors. The chain has 150 stores nationwide, three of them in California.

Three food court tenants also have joined Main Place. They are Fowl Play, a chicken sandwich shop; Bennett’s Bar-B-Que and Jo Jo’s, a cafe with cotton candy, hot dogs and churros. Main Place, which underwent extensive renovation, is now 90% leased and 83.4% open, mall officials said last week.

New tenants scheduled to open this month are Motherhood Maternity and Medley, an import-gift store.
