From Reuters
KATMANDU, Nepal —
Italian explorer Ardito Desio denied Monday that he plans to climb Mt. Everest, the world’s highest peak, at the age of 92.
“At 92, it is very amusing,” he said in Katmandu, a day after Milan University announced that he would ascend the 29,028-foot peak.
Instead, Desio, a geologist, said that one member of his research team, helped by five others, will try a rapid ascent of neighboring Mt. Pumori, which is 23,484 feet high.
