The American Federation of Musicians filed suit in U.S. District Court here Tuesday against Walt Disney Pictures and Television for not paying musicians when clips from Disney movies made prior to 1960 are used in current films and TV programs. The union claims Disney has used such clips in at least 15 programs. The suit seeks $150,000 in compensatory damages but, “just as importantly,” a judgment that Disney is obligated to make payments.
