Officer Shoots Himself While Loading Gun
An off-duty Los Angeles police officer shot himself in the leg while loading his revolver at home, authorities said Wednesday.
Christopher Kunz, 23, was at his home in the 12000 block of Eddleston Drive in Porter Ranch when his gun discharged about 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, Lt. William Hall said.
The bullet passed through Kunz’s right thigh.
Kunz, who has been a Los Angeles police officer for a year and is assigned to patrol duty in the west San Fernando Valley, was in good condition at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Hall said.
