Blowtorch Believed Cause of Mine Blast in Kentucky

MADISONVILLE, Ky. —
A construction blowtorch probably ignited the fireball that trapped and killed 10 miners 1,000 feet underground, investigators said Saturday. The William Station mine was filled with methane gas, investigators said.
