Chrysler Raises Incentives: The No. 3 U.S. auto maker has boosted cash rebates on certain 1988, 1989, 1990 car and truck models--a move that analysts said is sure to trigger a new round of incentive programs among U.S. car manufacturers. The incentives range from $500 for a 1988 or 1989 Plymouth Colt subcompact to $2,500 for a Dodge Raider sports utility vehicle. The previous incentive program provided a cash rebate of $300 for the Colt and $2,000 for the Raider. Analysts said No. 1 General Motors and No. 2 Ford Motor Co. will have no choice but to raise incentives on models that compete directly with Chrysler.
