A Montana couple has been arrested for investigation in the sophisticated heist of 1.25 tons of silver from a rural Nevada mine where the man used to work, authorities said Tuesday.

Billings Police Detective Dave Comfort identified the two as John Aiden, 22, and his girlfriend, Stacey Jovanovich, 21, both of Billings.

Comfort said the two were charged with embezzlement for allegedly stealing silver from the Trinity Mine while Aiden was employed there about a year ago.

The two are also suspected along with a third person in an Aug. 26 robbery at the mine in which two shotgun-toting masked bandits stole more than $200,000 worth of silver buttons.
