Vice President Dan Quayle met in Seoul with South Korean Prime Minister Kang Young Hoon while hundreds of student radicals held rallies denouncing the Seoul government and the United States. Quayle praised South Korea’s recent democratic reforms but asked Kang why political violence continues. Quayle is on the first stop of a trip that also will take him to Japan, the Philippines and Malaysia. He meets today with South Korean President Roh Tae Woo and leaders of opposition parties.
