WORLD : U.S., Japan Plan Joint Sea Exercise

TOKYO —
American and Japanese forces will begin one of their biggest joint military exercises at the end of this month, the Japanese Defense Agency said today.
All Japan’s 100 navy ships will join 60 U.S. vessels, including two aircraft carriers and two battleships from the U.S. Seventh Fleet, for the highlight of the month-long exercise from Sept. 29, a spokesman said.
