‘Pedal-Happy Citizens’

Your editorial stresses “pedal-happy citizens” in other cities. Put this together with your editorial “L.A.’s Track to the Future” (Aug. 9) where you advocated the purchase of the railroad right-of-way on Exposition Boulevard. Having a bikeway there could take a good number of people out of their cars to begin a healthier way of life by pedaling to work.

A bikeway and walkway would be a lot cheaper and more acceptable to people who oppose a light-rail line through their back yards.
