Pacificare to Sell Texas HMO: Pacificare Health Systems Inc. said it agreed to sell its 12,000-member Austin, Tex., health maintenance organization to a unit of Physicians Corp. of America for cash and notes. The companies declined to disclose the value of the transaction. Cypress-based Pacificare said Physician Corp.’s Texas Health Plans subsidiary will honor Pacificare’s contracts, benefits and premium rates for the remainder of contract terms.
