Avery International Corp.: The Pasadena-based maker of self-adhesive base materials, labels, tapes, office products and specialty chemicals reported third-quarter net income of $18.9 million, up 11% over a year ago. Sales totaled $423 million, also up 11%. The results reflected strong performances in the company’s core operations in the United States, including the materials, specialty tape, office products and Soabar tag and ticket businesses. The firm also noted continued to benefit from programs to increase manufacturing effectiveness and asset turnover.
