The New York City Opera has threatened to cancel the rest of its season if a two-week-long musicians’ strike is not settled by Oct. 8. “Unless there is movement, we aren’t going to have a season,” said Martin J. Oppenheimer, vice chairman and chief negotiator of the City Opera. The warning followed the collapse of a Monday night bargaining session. No further talks are scheduled.
