Garden Grove : School District Approves 3 Worker Contracts
- Share via
Agreements calling for 7.25% pay increases for three employee groups in the Garden Grove Unified School District have been approved by the school board.
All three agreements had been approved earlier by the workers.
The one-year contract with the Garden Grove Education Assn., which represents about 1,500 teachers and librarians, is retroactive to Sept. 1. Last year the association contract included a 5.5% pay increase.
The new contract includes adding one full-time teacher to each of the district’s seven regular high schools.
Another one-year contract was approved with the Garden Grove Supervisory Unit, which represents 55 maintenance and custodial supervisors. The third contract is for about 1,700 classified employees, such as cafeteria workers and bus drivers.
Talks are continuing with the remaining employee group, the Pupil Personnel Services Assn., which represents counselors, psychiatrists and related workers.
