200 Racers Expected Charity Regatta

The third annual Yacht Clubs of Long Beach charity regatta will be held Sunday, with net proceeds going to the Children’s Clinic of Long Beach.

The clinic provides medical and social care to needy children in the greater Long Beach area.

More than 200 competitors are expected for this event, in which entries need not belong to a yacht club. Among the cooperating clubs, Long Beach will run one-design keelboats, snipes and lasers, Seal Beach the PHRF classes, Alamitos Bay the inside dinghy classes, Shoreline the multihulls and Little Ships Fleet the sailboards. There also is a predicted log event for powerboats this year.
