Fannie Mae: The Federal National Mortgage Assn. said third-quarter earnings soared 60% as yields increased on its mortgage portfolio and fee income rose. Earnings were $211.9 million on total interest income of $2.8 billion, compared to $132.4 million on interest income of $2.6 billion in the same period of 1988.
