Dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov, who resigned as artistic director of American Ballet Theater in late September, says rumors circulating in Paris that he will become artistic director of the Paris Opera Ballet are “purely the figment of someone’s imagination.” He denied that “I have been, am or will be interested in this post. There have been no talks--and I underline no--between anyone from the Paris Opera Ballet and me.” The post is currently held by Rudolf Nureyev, who is on a national U.S. tour in “The King and I.”
