Hilton Hotels Corp.: The Beverly Hills-based hotel and casino operator said third-quarter profit rose 3% from a year ago to $28.1 million. Revenue increased 5% to $248.5 million. The results were attributed to a 36% gain in hotel revenue, which offset a 10% decline in gaming income. Corporate expenses also rose 79% to $10.4 million, mainly because of unanticipated settlement costs relating to a property deal in an earlier year, said Hilton, which is selling itself.
