Council Rejects Encino Bar’s Dance Floor Bid
The Los Angeles City Council on Wednesday blocked an Encino restaurant and bar from adding a dance floor after neighbors complained that they are already inundated by late-night patrons from nearby clubs.
By a 13-0 vote, the council sided with neighbor Emanuel Sedacca in his appeal against a Board of Zoning Appeals decision that would have allowed dancing at A. J.’s Supper Club in the 17300 block of Ventura Boulevard.
No restaurant representative spoke in its defense. The council’s action followed a recommendation by its Planning and Land Use Management Committee that the dance floor permit be denied.
