Loyalist to Arafat Slain in Lebanon

SIDON, Lebanon —
Unidentified gunmen killed a Palestinian doctor loyal to Palestine Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat’s maintstream Fatah group in southern Lebanon in apparent retaliation for the assassination of a hard-line guerrilla official in the same area, security officials said Wednesday.
Dr. Ali Hashem, in his 40s, was killed on a road leading to the sprawling refugee camp of Ein el Hilwa on the outskirts of the southern port city of Sidon late Tuesday.
The killing was the second in as many days.
