Where Were the ‘Gangs’ in Story?
The article “It Started as a Routine Party but Ended in a Tragic Death” (Times, Oct. 1) by staff writer James Rainey was totally riddled with euphemisms and swayed interpretations. For example, not once was the customary word/phrase of “gang/gang violence” employed to more accurately describe and portray what had actually occurred. In short, the more predictable and higher reporting standard by the L.A. Times was, in my estimation, unquestionably compromised.
