IN BRIEF : FRANCE : Rightist Faces Trial Over Anti-Semitism

Far-right French politician Claude Autant-Lara, who outraged France and the European Parliament with anti-Semitic comments, must stand trial for his remarks, court sources in Grasse, France, said. The case was brought last month after the 88-year-old former film director was quoted as denying the World War II Holocaust and regretting that the Nazi genocide had “missed” Simone Veil, a Jew and former president of the Strasbourg-based Parliament.
