WASHINGTON — President Bush will attend a summit meeting in Costa Rica on Oct. 27-28, along with 15 other heads of government, including Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, the White House said.
Aides said Friday that Bush and Ortega will attend plenary sessions and a banquet at the summit to celebrate 100 years of democracy in Costa Rica. The event also will be a salute to Costa Rican President Oscar Arias Sanchez, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
Bush and Ortega last met in 1985 at Brazilian inaugural ceremonies.
