SEATTLE — Negotiations between the Boeing Co. and its striking machinists union members will resume Wednesday, exactly two weeks after the walkout by 57,800 workers began, a federal mediator said today.
“Both sides will be here, and we’ll play it by ear from then on,” said Douglas Hammond of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.
Asked if Boeing had modified its contract proposal to the machinists, company spokesman Harold Carr said, “I am not going to comment on anything having to do with the proposal itself. Really, we just agreed to meet.”
