P.M. BRIEFING : Aerospace Merger Studied

LONDON — British Aerospace PLC said today it is looking at a possible merger of its missile division with France’s Thomson-CSF to form the largest European contractor for guided-weapon systems.
“There remain one or two matters to be resolved before the boards of the two companies are in a position to confirm any joint venture arrangements,” British Aerospace said in a statement.
