KJOI-FM said that after 25 years of playing “easy listening” music, it will switch to a format featuring soft vocals and light jazz. The decision came as a surprise because KJOI finished a strong fifth in the most recent ratings of Southern California radio stations. The switch becomes effective Sunday.
