Sunwest Bank in Tustin reported net income of $704,000 for the third quarter, an increase of 27% over $553,000 earned in last year’s third quarter. Quarterly revenue rose 37% to $8.2 million this year from $6 million last year. For the first nine months, Sunwest posted net income of $1.8 million, an 80% increase over $1 million earned in the same period last year. Revenue for the period grew 38% to $22.9 million this year from $16.6 million last year. Total assets at the end of September grew 24% to $276.2 million from $222.1 million a year ago, continuing its recent role as Orange County’s largest independent bank. Sunwest is owned by West Coast Bancorp in Orange, a multibank holding company.
