500 Couples Married in Mass Iran Wedding

NICOSIA, Cyprus —
Five hundred couples were married Tuesday at a government-sponsored ceremony in Tehran to celebrate the birth of the Prophet Mohammed.
The Islamic Republic News Agency said the 1,000 newlyweds included Iranians as well as Kuwaiti, Iraqi, Lebanese, Syrian and Malaysian immigrants.
