Schering-Plough Corp.: The Madison, N.J.-based pharmaceutical and health-care company reported a 20.8% increase in third-quarter earnings to $114 million, despite poor exchange rates and the sale of its European cosmetics businesses. Sales rose 3% to $743.7 million.
