‘Self-Esteem Is Earned’

I feel self-esteem is a God-given right. Every child is unique. Self-esteem rightly comes from acceptance of his uniqueness. Nurturing, loving parents and understanding, patient teachers motivate him to be the best he can be; praise him for his accomplishments; help him to know his limitations and strengths; love him for who he is, not for how they think he should be.

When he is thus accepted as a unique human, he is already a success. It’s dignity that has to be earned.
