Tamara McKinney of the U.S. ski team broke her left leg when she fell during giant slalom training on a glacier near Saas Fee, Switzerland.

According to Coach Paul Major, McKinney was skiing aggressively in timed training runs when she fell, three-quarters of the way down the course. She slipped on her inside ski, landed on her inside shoulder, then somersaulted, landing on her left leg.

It was the third time McKinney, 27, has broken her left leg.
