Jackson Supports Boeing Strikers: The Rev. Jesse Jackson marched with striking Boeing Co. workers and told them not to give up, while a union van in Wichita, Kan., was hit by gunfire over the weekend. The strike by nearly 60,000 machinists began Oct. 4. A negotiating session called by a federal mediator ended last Wednesday after four hours. Boeing chairman Frank Shrontz is scheduled to speak today to a group of Seattle media and business leaders. In Wichita, site of a Boeing plant, two men and a woman were arrested after a van outside the union’s headquarters was sprayed by shotgun pellets. No one was injured.
