Bay View Federal Adds 7 Branches: Bay View Capital Corp., San Mateo, Calif., announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Bay View Federal Savings and Loan Assn., has acquired the seven branches of Independence Savings and Loan Assn. from the Resolution Trust Corp., acting as receiver for Independence Savings. The branches, all in California, are in Vallejo, Fairfield, Benecia, San Anselmo and Orange. The acquisition increases Bay View’s asset size from $2.7 billion to $3 billion.
