Comsat: Communications Satellite Corp.’s third-quarter net income totaled $20.1 million, up 14% from 1988. Revenue rose 18% to $110.9 million. The figures reflect a tax settlement that contributed income of $2.2 million. The Washington-based communications and information services firm also attributed the results to continued growth in its international segment, especially the Mobile Communications business, and in the systems segment, which recorded new contracts and revenue from the sale of a cellular license.
