Shooting Victim Gives Birth, Dies of Wounds
A woman died of a head wound Tuesday after delivery of her baby, hours after she and her husband had been abducted, robbed and shot by someone who apparently thought they were police officers.
Carol Stuart, 33, a lawyer, died after the baby boy was delivered one month prematurely by Cesarean section, the hospital said.
Police said that the gunman, who had forced his way into their car, apparently thought the Stuarts were police officers because of the celluar phone in the car. According to officers, the gunman said: “I think you’re five-o,” slang for police. There are no suspects. Stuart is in serious condition.
