Rudolf Nureyev and “The King and I” won’t be at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre Dec. 26-Jan. 7 after all. The Los Angeles engagement has been crossed off the itinerary in favor of a Dec. 18-31 run in Miami, according to a statement Wednesday from New York producer Manny Kladitis. “There’s better weather and no earthquakes in Florida,” the spokesman quoted Kladitis as joking. “New dates for a Los Angeles engagement are in negotiation.” The show will still play the Orange County Performing Arts Center Dec. 5-10, as scheduled. The next stop after Miami is Vancouver where it’s scheduled to open Jan. 9.
