Electronic Data Systems Corp.: The computer and communication services firm said third-quarter profit rose 16% to a record $110.9 million. Revenue increased 12% to $1.37 billion. The Dallas company, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Corp., said it signed contracts during the quarter with two of the largest thrift institutions in the United States: Great Western Bank and World Savings and Loan Assn.
