Body Is Identified as That of Missing Girl, 7
The decomposed remains of a 7-year-old girl, found in the Arizona desert last Friday about 10 miles north of Bullhead City, Ariz., were identified Wednesday as Rebecca Lanning, the Pima, Ariz., county coroner’s office said.
Rebecca, who was last seen alive Oct. 2 in Bullhead City, disappeared after riding a ferry with her suspected abductor--identified as Timothy P. Quinton, 24, a transient from South Carolina--who was later arrested by Oceanside police.
George Olsen of the Pima County coroner’s office in Tucson said the cause of death will not be known until after an autopsy is completed next week.
Quinton, who was returned to Arizona last week, is being held on suspicion of kidnaping in the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.
